subject: Guest pork farmer at Islington Farmers' Market

Dear customers,

Over the next four weeks, David Wilkinson of Downland Pork will not be attending the Islington Farmers' Market. This is because David has recently employed a full-time cook, and is working hard on the development of a number of exciting new pork dishes to be ready for the start of September. Watch this space...

In David's temporary absence, the fabulous Tracy Mackness, of The Giggly Pig Company, will be attending instead. Tracy is a farmer of free-range Saddleback pigs in Romford, on the outskirts of London, who has built up a reputation over the past five or six years for producing pork products of the utmost taste and quality.

Tracy has built up her business over the past few years from literally nothing, and in the face of all the doom and gloom surrounding the agriculture industry at present, she is an encouraging success story, having built the farm into a successful business built on a foundation of quality produce. Her quality hog roasts are now a feature of many a top London Summer event, and her 50 varieties of sausage grace many a barbeque all over London and Essex throughout these (supposedly) balmy months. To find out more about the story behind Tracy and The Giggly Pig, take a look here: http://www.gigglypig.co.uk.

We are certain that Tracy will be a more than able deputy whilst David is away.

We are also very pleased to welcome Carol Stoneham (aka Miss Stoneham's Preserves) back to the market this Sunday, after a spell in hospital. Carol is now on the road back to full fitness, and we are delighted that she will be back at market this weekend, as (I'm sure) will any of you who love traditional preserves made from real ingredients.

Enjoy the market this weekend, and be sure to get something for your barbeque - this weekend is meant to be a hot one... or so the Met Office says. (Carol's real tomato ketchup is a must for any barbeque!)

Regards,

Liam, Farah, Louise, Cheryl, Mark and Arthur
